The Reflective Practice Circle is a space to notice what is happening in your coaching, explore what it stirs in you, learn from other coaches, and develop your own ways of reflecting and learning from your practice.
This isn't another course to complete or a library of content to work through. It complements coaching supervision; it doesn't replace it.
It's a place to pause, reflect and think together - and over time build your own reflective practice.
Each month we explore a theme connected to the real experience of being a coach.
Themes might include:
What hooks me in my coaching?
What am I bringing into the room?
When do I lose curiosity?
What am I avoiding?
Where am I over-functioning?
What stories am I making up about my clients?
What happens when a client doesn't change?
Where does my personal stuff meet the client's?
What am I learning about myself as a coach?
Each month also introduces a different reflective practice experiment.
You might experiment with:
reflective journalling
audio reflection
reflecting on a coaching transcript
critical-incident reflection
metaphor
drawing or visual reflection
somatic/body-based reflection
reflecting with another person
noticing patterns across your coaching
exploring your use of self
The goal isn't for me to tell you how you should reflect.
It's for you to discover how you reflect, learn and grow best.
Over time, you'll begin to build your own personal reflective practice — one that fits your personality, your work and your life.
You might discover:
- the questions you return to
- the reflective methods that work for you
- when you most need to pause and reflect
- how you recognise patterns in your coaching
- what helps you become more curious
- where your own experience enters the coaching relationship
- who you can reflect with
- what a sustainable reflective practice and rhythm looks like for you
Think of it as building your own reflective toolkit.
🌱 The Stir
At the beginning of each month, you'll receive a short personal reflection from me — an observation, question, tension or something I've been noticing in my own coaching practice.
I'll invite you to consider: What does this stir in you?
📝 The Practice Experiment
Each month we'll try a different way of reflecting on our practice.
You'll have the opportunity to experiment with it in your own coaching life and decide: Keep it. Adapt it. Or let it go.
💬 The Weekly Stir
You'll receive one simple reflection prompt each week to keep the practice alive between circles. These will be shared in our private WhatsApp group, where you can also share thoughts, observations, or interesting things you've discovered.
⭕ The Circle
A 90-minute live gathering where we reflect and think together.
A typical Circle includes:
- Arriving and introducing the month's theme
- Individual reflection and journalling
- Facilitated whole-group conversation
- Light-touch reflective exploration of coaching experiences
- Integration and taking something forward
There are no breakout rooms and no requirement to prepare a presentation or case. There are no recordings.
You simply arrive as you are.
- A regular space for reflection.
- Opportunities to experiment with different reflective practices.
- Connection with other coaches.
- A way for members to gradually develop their own personal reflective practice.
You don't need to be "good at reflection".
You don't need to have lots of time.
And you don't need to know what your reflective practice should look like.
That's what we're here to explore and build.
